
Olive Oil Sommelier | VP, Cretan Exporters Association | Sensory Evaluation & Value Chain Expert
Born in Crete, Emmanouil has dedicated nearly two decades to the olive oil sector, building a career that seamlessly bridges production innovation, international trade, and sensory excellence.
Currently serving as a Sensory Evaluation and Olive Oil Value Chain Expert at MELISSA-KIKIZAS SA (Terra Creta), bringing a holistic, “farm-to-bottle” perspective to the industry.
Initially trained as an engineer, Emmanouil pivoted to the organoleptic world, receiving specialized training from IOC instructors in Greece and Italy. Today, he is a Diploma-certified Olive Oil Sommelier and an active panel member at an accredited Sensory Evaluation Laboratory, frequently serving as a jury member for prestigious international olive oil competitions.
Beyond the laboratory, Emmanouil is a prominent figure in the Greek export economy, serving as Vice President of the Cretan Exporters Association and a member of the Council of Experts at the International Olive Oil Network (IOON). A respected educator and speaker, he have presented at major global forums including the IOC Summit, FHC Forum, HORECA Forum, IOON Summit, Innodays opening session and TEDx.
