In recent years, there has been a steadily increasing trend in the development of olive tourism programs in the country. This phenomenon is moving in the right direction, as it enriches the broader tourism product of Greece with high-quality elements, offers significant sales potential -particularly for smaller businesses in the sector- and certainly provides an opportunity to enhance the image and reputation of the product through the dissemination of knowledge.
However, there is another dimension, perhaps more important than the above, which is rarely discussed despite its great value. Olive tourism offers us the opportunity to see our world through the eyes of today’s visitor (and potential future customer), as well as to look at our own reflection in the mirror.
