Magda Tsegkou

Magda Tsegkou was born in Preveza and studied journalism in Athens. She is a member of the Union of Daily Newspaper Editors of Athens (ESIEA). She began her professional career at SKAI with the show “Zougla” in 1995 as a reporter with Makis Triantafyllopoulos. She then worked at ERT and the show “As Long as There Are People” with Takis Spiliopoulos, covering journalistic missions all over Greece.

In 2001, she moved to the STAR channel and the daily show “Logia Starata” with George Varemenos, while in 2003, she started working at the ALTER TV station, returning to the morning slot, as co-host and responsible for guests, alongside Giorgos Varemenos in the show “Clear Talks” for three whole years.

At the same time, for 4 years, she conducted exclusive interviews with important personalities of our country on the TRT channel of Central Greece, in the show “Kalispera Ellada” with Sotiris Polizos.

Magda Tsegkou took over the morning slot at ALTER TV, with Terence Quick hosting the daily morning show “Kalimera Terence, 6-10”, with Magda Tsegkou participating in the panel and journalistic missions in Greece and abroad. Later, she worked as the responsible for guests and as a reporter on the News Bulletin of the same channel.

In 2009, the TV station entrusted her with the responsibility of Chief Editor and co-host of the show “Kalimera with Giorgos Autias on Alter”, a position she held until the end of the station’s operation. From 2011 to 2017, she worked at SKAI as chief editor and co-host of the show “GOOD MORNING SKAI Weekend” with Giorgos Autias. For two consecutive years, Magda Tsegkou hosted the presentation of the informative morning summer slot on SKAI with the show “GOOD MORNING SKAI”. In 2011, she also started writing as a journalist on her personal website http://www.magdasnews.gr until today.

From 2016 to 2018, she served as Press Office and Public Relations Officer at the “Boubouras Foundation”. In 2018-2019, she presented the radio show “120′ with Magda” broadcasted nationwide. She taught journalism at IEK Omirou from 2011 to 2018.

In 2020 and 2021, she conducted exclusive interviews for Newsit.gr with Ministers and presented their legislative work, as well as with personalities of the country’s political and social life who were in the spotlight.

In November 2022, she took over the position of Communication Manager at the Office of the Mayor of Elliniko-Argyroupoli, Mr. Yiannis Konstantatos.

For the past fifteen years, she has hosted presentations of cultural events of Municipalities, Regions, and awards ceremonies. She has also hosted book presentations and literary events, as well as events of philanthropic organizations, scientific bodies, and public benefit foundations for social purposes and for the proper information and sensitization of citizens on various serious issues (e.g., breast cancer, domestic violence, women’s equality, poverty alleviation, safe internet use, etc.).

Finally, Magda Tsegkou has participated in television shows, artistic events, and nationwide campaigns for fundraising, humanitarian aid, and the activation of voluntary contributions from broader social strata.
