Presentation title:
New Challenges and Innovative Approaches for the Optimal Irrigation of Olive Trees in Greece
Presentation abstract:
Greek olive cultivation faces challenges from climate instability and limited water resources. This talk examines the impact of climate change on irrigation needs and the role of precision agriculture in optimizing water use. It explores deficit irrigation strategies and the sustainability of dense planting under water scarcity. Key recommendations for a national irrigation water management strategy will be presented, aiming to enhance the long-term resilience and competitiveness of Greek olive farming.
