CV:
Nikolaos Zouros is Professor of Geography, Dean of the School of Social Sciences at the University of the Aegean, and Director of the Natural History Museum of the Petrified Forest of Lesvos. He served as Vice-Chair of the University of the Aegean Council (2010–2015) and has directed the Interinstitutional MSc Program “Natural Hazards and Disaster Management” since 2018. He leads research and excavation at the Petrified Forests of Lesvos and Lemnos, is a founding figure in the geopark movement, serves as President of the Global Geoparks Network, and is a member of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Council. He has authored 25 books and over 150 scientific publications.
