Tessy Baila

Author, General Secretary of the literary Association PEN Greece

Tesy Baila is an author. She was born in Piraeus. She studied Greek Culture History and Literature Translation. She pursued postgraduate studies in literature at the University of Macedonia. She emerged in Greek Literature in 2009. She focuses on social novels within a historical context. Her novel “Call me Ishmael” was shortlisted for the National Novel Award in 2023. Her stories have been translated into Bulgarian and Turkish. She also collaborates as a translator with reputable publishing houses. Her book reviews are regularly hosted in online and print magazines and in the Sunday edition of the newspaper Kathimerini. She is an editor of the literary magazine Klepsydra and the chief editor of the magazine Literature.gr. She is a founding member and serves as the Secretary-General of the Association of Writers and Friends of Literature PEN Greece.
