Andrea Paola Rojas Gil

Ph.D Associate Professor of Biology and Biochemistry Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing University of Peloponnese

Andrea Paola Rojas Gil studied Molecular Biology and Genetics at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic (scholarship from UNESCO). She also has two Master Degrees, one at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Charles University and one in Clinical Dietology and Nutrition at Harokopio University Athens, Greece. Her Ph.D. studies were in Biomedicine at the branch of Molecular and Cellular Biology of the Department of Microbiology and Genetics, Charles University (Grant from the Ministry of Education, Czech Republic). Among others she has been a visiting profesor (Lecturer) at the University of Peloponnese, School of Nursing, visiting assistant professor at the University of Valle/Cali Colombia at the Department of Human Genetics and a Lecturer in Biology-Biochemistry at the University of Peloponnese School of Nursing.

Today she is an Associated Professor of Biology and Biochemistry at the University of Peloponese School of Nursing. She has also been awarded from the Greek Endocrinology Society, from the Greek Medicine Association and from the Greek Association for Cardiovascular Risk. Her current researches concern the field of Molecular Endocrinology with emphasis on diabetes, obesity, thyroid and growth disorders and the prevention and treatment of eating disorders at the biochemical, molecular, epidemiological and educational levels, the field of Molecular Oncology with emphasis on the effect of biopolyphenols in the cell cycle and apoptosis processes in chronic lymphocyte leukemia, myeloma and bladder cancer and last the field of Molecular Oncology with emphasis on the effect of natural honey bee and plant components in the cell cycle and apoptosis processes in neoplasmatic processes.
