Panagiotis Varagiannis

Panagiotis Varayiannis is a Clinical Dietitian-Nutritionist, who was born in Athens and comes from Samos Island. He completed his basic studies at the Department of Dietetics – Nutrition of Harokopio University with a grade of “Very Good” and his postgraduate studies in Great Britain where he obtained the postgraduate qualification M.Med.Sc in Human Nutrition specializing in Clinical Dietetics from Medicine School of the University of Glasgow, as a Harokopian Foundation Fellow. Today, he is a PhD Candidate at the Agricultural University of Athens (Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition) with a research topic of Childhood Obesity. He also held from 2007 to 2022 the position of General Secretary and now the position of Special Secretary in the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Dietetic Association (HDA), while he was a member of the Scientific Committee for Nutrition Policy of the Ministry of Health. He has participated as a speaker and as a member of organizing committees in important conferences and scientific events (Nutrition Week & Hellenic Conferences on Nutrition – Dietetics) of the HDA in collaboration with various internal and external bodies, as well as an invited speaker in Greek University Institutions. For the last 20 years he works at his private Dietetic office in Salamina Island. Finally, his articles have been published in reputable scientific journals while he participated as an author in 3 books: a Pythagorean Diet. From ancient times to the modern vegan trend.
