Sophia Baroutsaki-Tsirigoti

Honorary Consul in Lesvos and Limnos

She was born in Nafplio. She graduated from the University Stendhal – Grenoble 3 in France, with a degree in Language Sciences, specializing in French as a foreign language. She did postgraduate studies at the University of Le Mans in France, in Language Teaching and New Technologies in Language Communication. She obtained her doctorate in French and Comparative Literature from the University of Bordeaux (Université Montaigne III – Bordeaux). She is a doctoral candidate at the Sorbonne University in Paris (Université Paris IV – Sorbonne) in “Literature in the Service of Interculturality in FLE Class in Greece and the Contribution of New Technologies She teaches at the private school of French language and culture “ABC” in Mytilene and at the University of the Aegean in the framework of multilingualism. She has been honored by the French Republic as a Knight of the Order of Academic Palms (Chevalier de l’Ordre des PalmesAcadémiques) for her services in education, her contribution to the dissemination of French language and culture, and her contributions to science and the arts. This award also recognizes her academic career and her contribution to the development of Greek-French cooperation.

She actively participates in international scientific conferences and seminars: May 2018 in Poitiers, May 2019 in Montreal, Quebec (UQAM), October 2019 at the University of Rouen Normandy, Mont-Saint-Aignan, March 2021 at CY Cergy Paris University, June 2021 at ENS in Meknes, Morocco, July 2021 at CRIFPE.CA in Montreal, Canada, July 2021 at the 15th World Congress of FIPF in Tunisia, May 2022 at the Ecole Normale Supérieure – MessaoudZeghar – Sétif – Algeria, and July 2022 in Exeter, United Kingdom.
