Dimitris Sarantopoulos draws his origin from the region of Arcadia in the Peloponnese but was born and grew up in Athens. From a young age he began his involvement with trade and at the age of 23 he opened his first retail store. He studied Business Administration. He is a high-level professional with many years of experience in retail and sales management. He is the founder and operational manger of the company Olive Epitome, an online platform exclusively dedicated to the trading of premium quality extra virgin olive oil, whose aim is the dissemination of Greek olive varieties worldwide as well as the initiation and education of the consumer on the benefits of extra virgin for the health and combined with gastronomy.
He is co-founder of the Santorini-based company Olive Oil Experience, whose project concerns the promotion of extra virgin olive oil as a basic value of Greek culture and the Mediterranean diet, through an innovative, educational journey of knowledge and senses, which includes a tasting of 7 different Greek olive oil varieties from all over the country, combined with a specially designed degustation menu of 7 dishes of high gastronomic value. He is a member of the Kalamata Olive Oil Taste Laboratory of the University of the Peloponnese, officially accredited by the International Olive Oil Council, a position that allows him to be continuously trained in the organoleptic evaluation of extra virgin olive oil and therefore to be able to distinguish quality extra virgin olive oils.
