PhD. Director of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Lesvos
Pavlos Triantafyllidis is Director of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Lesbos (2014). He has the Archaeology Degree (1998) and Ph.D (2008) at Ioannina University on “The Glass Objects from Minoa of Amorgos. Contribution to the study of the glassworking in the Cyclades during the Hellenistic and Roman periods”. He is doing his Postdoctoral research (2001) in the University of Athens on “The panrhodian sanctuary of Zeus Atavyros in Rhodes”. Postgraduate student granted a scholarship of Institute of Classical Archaeology at the Vienna University (20001), Harvard University (1996-1999) and of Corning Museum of Glass, Corning, New York (2005). He has conducted a various archaeological investigations including surface surveys, rescue and systematic excavations, mainly in the Dodecanese, i.e. Rhodes and Agathonisi. He is currently conducting (2015) two systematic excavations in Hephaistia and the Kabeirion sanctuary on Lemnos island. His scientific interest are focus in ancient glassworking and glassmaking, the metalworking, the topography and the study of minor objects (pottery and jewellry). Hi has produced many monographs and articles in international journals.
